What is Arm Lift/Brachioplasty?

An arm lift is a procedure that lifts and shapes the arm by removing excess tissue and fat. It is performed on the lower region of the upper arm, better known as the triceps.

How Much Does a Brachioplasty (Arm Lift) Cost?

The cost of an arm lift varies depending on the extent of surgery and the amount of skin and fat that needs to be removed. Dr. Leverett offers financing through CareCredit® and Prosper Healthcare Lending. Our office also accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, cash and cashier’s checks.

Benefits of Arm Lift/Brachioplasty

Unfortunately, your arms do not always respond well to diet and exercise. An arm lift will make your arm appear more muscular by eliminating loose and sagging skin. An arm lift offers benefits including:

  • Gives your arm a tight, toned appearance
  • Helps show the natural contours of your arm
  • Improves self-esteem
  • Creates a more pleasant overall appearance

Candidates for Arm Lift / Brachioplasty

If you feel self-conscious about your arms, and it’s preventing you from wearing T-shirts and tank tops, you may be a good candidate for an arm lift.

What Happens During Arm Lift Surgery?

An arm lift is performed on an outpatient basis under anesthesia. Incisions will vary depending on how much skin and fat needs to be removed. Liposuction may be used if there is a large amount of fat present. With liposuction, a tiny tube, known as a cannula, is inserted underneath the skin. The tube suctions out fat, prepping the arm for reshaping. The tissue is then trimmed and tightened and secured with sutures.

Recovery from Arm Lift Surgery

After surgery, your arm will be wrapped in either bandages or a compression garment to speed up healing. You may experience swelling and a tight feeling in your arms that should dissipate in a few weeks. A thin tube may be placed underneath the skin to help with drainage for more extensive arm lifts.
